Four controls that prevent a wrong answer
- Use one date range across the Foodi statement, POS export and payment receipt.
- Check whether commission applies to menu value, discounted value or another stated basis.
- Separate platform-funded and restaurant-funded promotions.
- Do not deduct a refund twice when it already reduced gross sales.
Calculate by order and by period
An order-level calculation helps explain one ticket. A period calculation is better for reconciliation because adjustments may be posted outside the original order. Keep both views and connect each adjustment to its statement reference.
For channel decisions, compare contribution per fulfilled order and total contribution for the period. A marketplace may bring volume while a direct channel may retain more per order; both dimensions matter.
