Restaurant Delivery Packaging Checklist Bangladesh: Pack, Verify and Seal
A two-person packing and verification checklist that protects order accuracy, food condition and a traceable rider handoff.

Last verified: 2026-08-31
A restaurant delivery packaging checklist should prove three things before a bag leaves: the order is complete, each item is packed for the journey and the sealed package is handed to the correct rider or customer. The expo should verify order ID, quantities, modifiers, drinks, sauces and bag count against the accepted order.
Packaging cannot make unsafe food safe or repair a late production process. Start with the restaurant's approved food-safety controls, then choose containers and separation for the menu, journey and handling risk.
Final packing gate
Use a packer and verifier for complex or high-value orders. For simpler orders, require a deliberate second scan of the ticket before sealing.
Do not reopen a sealed bag casually. If correction is needed, record who broke and replaced the seal.
| Gate | Pass question | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Correct platform and order ID? | Ticket and bag label |
| Completeness | Every item, variation and add-on present? | Pack checklist |
| Condition | Container suitable and closed? | Visual check |
| Separation | Hot/cold, allergen and spill risks controlled? | Bag plan |
| Accessories | Ordered drinks/sauces and policy-based utensils? | Line check |
| Seal | Bag count sealed and numbered? | Initial/time |
| Handoff | Correct rider/order verification? | Handoff event |
Choose containers by food behaviour
Map each item to leakage, steam, crispness, temperature, crushing and upright-carry risk. Test the actual portion and travel time, not an empty container on a desk.
Keep sauces and liquids in secure primary containers and use secondary containment where the risk requires it. Do not overfill or use a lid that deforms under normal stacking.
Separate incompatible items
The FDA Food Code is a model for safe retail-food handling, but local requirements and the restaurant's competent plan control. Avoid universal temperature or packaging claims copied from another jurisdiction.
| Risk | Control |
|---|---|
| Hot and cold | Separate bags or insulated zones as approved |
| Crisp and steaming | Vent/segregate using suitable packaging |
| Raw and ready-to-eat | Follow food-safety segregation; do not co-pack unsafely |
| Allergen-sensitive order | Follow approved allergen procedure and clear identifier |
| Drink and food | Upright carrier and spill separation |
| Heavy and fragile | Heavy base, protected fragile top |

Label for operations, not decoration
Show the order ID, customer reference only as necessary, bag number such as 1 of 2, branch, packed time and any approved handling mark. Avoid exposing unnecessary phone numbers or addresses on visible outer packaging.
Use a stable label placement that the rider can verify without opening the bag. If multiple platforms share a pickup shelf, make the platform and order ID unambiguous.
Control allergen and special instructions
Flag allergen-related notes to the designated trained person before preparation, not only at packing. The packer should verify the approved process was followed and that the correct order receives the identified package.
Do not promise allergen-free service unless the restaurant can substantiate it. Escalate unclear notes through the approved platform or customer-contact process.
Packaging stock and quality check
Reject damaged, contaminated or poor-fitting packaging through the supplier process. Record lot or delivery details when traceability is relevant.
| Item | Opening check | Reorder signal |
|---|---|---|
| Main containers | Size, lid fit, cleanliness | Par minus pending demand |
| Bags | Strength and size | Shift forecast |
| Seals/labels | Adhesion and legibility | Minimum shift stock |
| Drink carriers | Stability test | Drink mix forecast |
| Sauce cups | Leak test and lid | Menu-component demand |
| Insulation | Clean, usable and available | Route/menu need |
Rider handoff
Place finished bags in a controlled area by order ID, not customer name alone. Verify the current platform handoff step, rider/order reference and total bag count.
foodpanda's public partner flow places rider pickup after the restaurant prepares the order. Record actual ready and handoff times so kitchen and rider waiting are not confused.

Packing error log
- Missing item
- Wrong variation
- Leak/spill
- Temperature/condition complaint
- Seal problem
- Wrong rider/order
- Packaging stock-out
- Corrective action and owner
Shift-close review
Count packaging variances, review complaints and record items that repeatedly fail travel. Change container, portion, venting, station sequence or menu availability based on controlled tests.
How we calculated and verified this
The checklist is an operator template built around the public marketplace flow from preparation to rider pickup. The FDA Food Code is cited as an international food-safety model, not Bangladesh law.
Packaging suitability, temperature control, allergen handling and labelling must follow current Bangladesh requirements, product risk, competent advice and the selected platform's current terms.
Delivery packing is the last restaurant-controlled quality gate. Make the order ID, completeness, separation, seal and handoff visible in one short record.
Use the current platform workflow and competent local food-safety guidance for the menu's actual risk.
