POS Printer Warranty in Bangladesh: What Is Actually Covered?

Last verified: 2026-08-28

POS printer warranty in Bangladesh is not defined by the brand name alone. It is a promise from a seller, importer or authorised service channel, tied to an exact serial number, invoice and set of exclusions.

Some current listings advertise one-year warranty on selected models. That may mean service, parts repair or replacement under limited conditions. It does not automatically cover the thermal head, cutter, adapter, cable or battery.

Parts often treated differently

Thermal heads and cutters are wear components. Portable batteries, adapters and cables can have shorter or no coverage. Damage from unsuitable paper, dust, liquid, grease, insects, voltage problems or physical impact is often excluded.

Do not assume an engineering head-life or cutter-life rating is a warranty. The rating describes test performance; warranty is a time-and-terms contract.

Paper can affect coverage

Epson's support material warns that unsuitable media can damage print heads and that damage from unapproved media may not be covered. Similar practical risk applies to any thermal printer: abrasive or contaminated paper increases wear.

Use the width, thickness, core and roll diameter in the exact manual. Keep invoices for bulk paper if a business relies on warranty evidence.

Documents to preserve

  • VAT or cash invoice with full model
  • Serial number photograph
  • Warranty card and seller stamp
  • Box label and included-accessory list
  • Initial self-test page
  • Email or message confirming coverage
  • Service tickets and delivery receipts

Seven questions before paying

  • Who provides the warranty?
  • Service, parts or replacement?
  • Are head, cutter, adapter and battery covered?
  • What voids coverage?
  • Where is the service centre?
  • Expected turnaround and loan unit?
  • Who pays transport outside Dhaka?

Plan for downtime anyway

Warranty does not print tonight's bills while a unit is in service. A busy restaurant should keep a tested spare, or a digital receipt and manual KOT fallback, with staff trained to switch.

Standardise one exact printer model across branches so a spare, adapter and driver can move where needed. Rosuii remains usable on different supported devices and receipt widths, reducing hardware lock-in.

How to make a claim

Stop repeatedly powering a smoking, wet or overheating unit. Photograph the issue, run a self-test only if safe and contact the warranty provider with invoice and serial. Do not open the case before checking whether that voids coverage.

Back up driver settings and network IP before service. When the printer returns, run the same acceptance test used at purchase before putting it back into rush-hour service.

Warranty is model-, seller- and channel-specific

Do not assume one warranty from a brand name. Record the exact printer model, serial, seller, invoice, purchase channel, warranty period, covered parts, exclusions, service location and claim method from current written terms. A marketplace badge or verbal promise is not enough.

Confirm whether the seller is authorized where that affects coverage and whether print head, cutter, adapter, cable, accidental damage, power events or consumables have separate treatment.

Warranty evidence table

Register or retain documents within any stated vendor process and keep business-controlled contact details.

Acceptance test before the return window ends

Test with the intended POS device and driver. Record a failure immediately without opening or modifying the printer beyond authorized steps.

  • Correct model and interface
  • Power adapter specification
  • USB/LAN/Bluetooth detection as purchased
  • 58mm/80mm paper fit as applicable
  • Text, Bangla and barcode test
  • Auto-cutter where included
  • Kitchen heat/noise placement
  • Repeated print and reconnect
  • Physical damage and missing parts

Prepare a strong warranty claim

Describe the reproducible fault, indicator state, connection, paper and troubleshooting already performed. Include invoice, serial, case ID and minimal video or sample where requested. Remove customer receipts and network credentials from evidence.

Ask the service center to record received condition, included accessories, diagnosis, work, parts, outgoing test and returned serial. Keep data or configuration backup where the device stores any relevant settings.

Warranty versus business continuity

Warranty can repair a covered defect but does not keep service running. Maintain tested fallback printing or KDS, spare paper and cable, and a replacement or loan plan based on branch risk. Do not claim a warranty response time unless written.

Track repeat fault and downtime by model and supplier. Use verified ownership cost—not warranty length alone—for the next purchase decision.

Create a branch incident card with printer identity, approved restart and cable checks, fallback station, support contact, case owner and prohibited actions that could damage evidence or coverage. After service, test the original fault, language output, cutter and connection under load before returning the unit to the critical station. Record parts and serial changes. Repeated paper jams may come from paper, loading, environment or mechanism, so investigate instead of assuming warranty failure.

The useful warranty is the one you can prove and access. Write the parts, exclusions, address and turnaround on the invoice, then keep a fallback because even a valid repair takes time.

Frequently asked questions

How long is a POS printer warranty in Bangladesh?
Selected listings advertise one year, but term and coverage vary by seller, importer, model and part. Confirm the written terms.
Is the print head covered by warranty?
Not always. It may be treated as a wear item or excluded for unsuitable paper or contamination.
Is a cutter-life rating a warranty?
No. It is an engineering rating under test conditions, not a repair promise.
What do I need for a warranty claim?
Usually the invoice, serial number, warranty card and an intact unit. The provider may ask for a fault description or self-test.
Should a restaurant keep a spare printer?
A busy restaurant should keep a tested spare or a documented digital-receipt and KOT fallback because service takes time.
How long is POS printer warranty in Bangladesh?
It varies by exact model, seller and written terms. Verify the invoice and current warranty document instead of assuming a brand-wide period.
Is the print head always covered?
Not necessarily. Check the exact covered-parts and consumable exclusions for the purchased model and seller.
What is needed for a warranty claim?
Usually model/serial, invoice, written terms, fault evidence and official service case; follow the seller or manufacturer process.
Should a restaurant keep a spare POS printer?
Base the fallback on branch risk and repair access. At minimum maintain a tested alternative output route, compatible paper and cables, configuration record and staff instructions; a warranty claim does not keep live service running.
