Cash and shifts

Cashier shifts and internal fund-transfer records

Open and close cashier shifts, compare counted cash with the recorded expected balance, and record transfers between configured payment-method balances. These are internal records: they do not execute bank or wallet transfers, and inter-outlet settlement remains a separate workflow.

Cashier shift closing

Record opening cash, inspect shift collections/payouts and enter counted closing cash so differences can be reviewed.

Free, Starter, Growth, Pro — account limits, permissions and the setup conditions below apply.

Workflow and demonstration
Open a test shift, record a cash sale and payout, then compare expected and counted cash when closing.
Prerequisites
Shift/order permissions, correct operator/outlet and a physical cash count.
Connectivity and offline behavior
Configuration and shared records need internet. Confirm the exact desktop screen separately.
Limitations
Shift close is a drawer-control record, not inter-outlet settlement or an automatic bank deposit.

Internal fund-transfer records

Record a transfer between two configured payment-method balances. The source receives an outgoing movement and any entered fee; the destination receives the transfer amount.

Free, Starter, Growth, Pro — account limits, permissions and the setup conditions below apply.

Workflow and demonstration
Illustration: record ৳1,000 from cash to a bank-labelled balance with a ৳10 fee; inspect both ledger entries. Move actual money separately through your bank process.
Prerequisites
Settings edit permission, distinct valid payment methods, amount and any fee/note. Ledger/balance reading requires Settings view; confirm the assigned role in your account.
Connectivity and offline behavior
Configuration and shared records need internet. Confirm the exact desktop screen separately.
Limitations
This changes internal ledger records only. It does not call a bank/wallet transfer API, hand over physical cash or settle another outlet automatically.

Cash and shifts

Who this feature is for

For restaurants where more than one person touches the cash drawer

  • Shops running two or three cashier shifts a day
  • Owners who cannot stand at the counter at closing time
  • Multi-outlet operators who need each outlet's cash kept apart
  • Anyone reconciling a drawer against a notebook today

Operational benefits

What this changes in daily service

A handover that leaves a record

Each shift carries who opened it, when, the float they started with, the orders taken and what was counted at the end.

The difference is a number, not an argument

Rosuii computes the expected cash and stores the variance against the count, so a short drawer is a recorded fact with a name and a time on it.

Card and wallet money kept separate

Card and mobile-wallet takings are totalled for the closing slip but kept out of the drawer figure, because they were never in the drawer.

The same shape for a whole day

The day-close view shows an outlet's opening float, cash sales and pay-outs for a date, for owners who think in days rather than shifts.

How it works

The workflow, step by step

1. Open the shift

The cashier enters the float already in the drawer and starts their shift.

2. Work the counter

Orders and payments attach to the open shift as they are taken.

3. Count and close

At handover the cashier counts the drawer and enters the amount.

4. Read the difference

Rosuii shows expected cash, the counted amount and the variance, and keeps all three.

Frequently asked questions

Can two cashiers hand the drawer over between shifts?

Yes. One closes their shift by counting the drawer, and the next opens a new shift with the float that stays in it. Each shift keeps who opened it, when, the float, the orders taken and what was counted.

How does Rosuii know what the drawer should hold?

Opening float, plus the cash taken during the shift, minus the cash paid out of it. The counted amount you enter is compared against that, and the difference is stored as the variance — negative means the drawer is short.

Are card and bKash payments counted in the drawer?

No. Card and mobile-wallet takings are totalled separately for the closing slip, because that money never entered the drawer. Only cash affects the expected figure.

Can I see the cash position for a whole day instead of a shift?

Yes. The day-close view shows an outlet's opening float for a date, the cash sales and pay-outs against it, and the cash the drawer should hold. That figure is worked out rather than counted — the counted amount comes from closing a shift.

Does it stop a cashier seeing the expected amount before counting?

No. There is no blind-count mode. Rosuii records the figure the person entered and the difference from expected; it does not hide the expected amount first.
